On one of the other truck sites I visit a fella' was talking about using some black paint (satin or gloss) that Catapiller uses on bulldozers and stuff. You can spray it or brush it on as it's self-leveling. He had primed under half of it and after he used it, folks couldn't tell which half had been primed. He said it was cheap, about $25/gal, and bragged about the fact that some of the over-spray around the axles wouldn't come off with the sand blasting, just the rust around it! He said he didn't work for Catapiller or anything, just something he'd found for coating the frame. Figured if it worked on a bulldozer, it should keep his frame pretty well protected!
