I put in a 5,000 gallon above-ground tank with a Honda pump and several hundred feet of inch-and-a-half hose at our home outside Flagstaff. Been a pretty wet summer in No. AZ, so not much fire activity this year.
I'm currently up in Missoula, MT, where the temps have been in the 90s, and not much precipitation. Lots of smoke from various fires in the Bitterroot region.
The latter half of this summer is going to be very interesting all over the West; continuation of this weather pattern will likely bring more fire activity, which will put further stress on firefighting resources. I'm considering investing in contract water tenders, particularly in California. Also thinking about buying a large mobile shower unit for use at base camps. the federal and state agencies pay astonishing rates for these things...
