I am wondering if someone can help me out with my small dilemma?
I replaced a couple of worn out wires inside of my distributor...put it back together...took my line from the positive side of my coil and screwed it to the outside terminal of my distributor. Now before I hook up the wire...I have power to my + side of the coil....as soon as I hook up the line and test it down at the distributor the test light is dead. So I took apart the points and tested the lines and everything lit up again.
My question is:
When I connect the wire leads and the point lead to the connecting stub should there be an insulator to separate the wires so as not to cause the distributor to ground out like that?
I am so close to getting a circuit but I am fairly dumb when it comes to electrics.
