Have done that numerous times over the years with the W200. Not sure it has a real sweat spot but you can work it OK. Don't do that anymore really since we can't drive most of the places we had to winch. Actually usually didn't winch with that rig since it could drive out most of the time on the worst pull. Only full size that could manage it.
