I'm not sure cost is the biggest issue. It would probably be the engineering of it. While the basic design is fairly straightforward the spacing and strength of such a piece would be tricky.
I was looking at the wheels on my PW last night and they sit fairly far out as it is, a spacer would have them a bit further.
