Sorry to hear about this. Never a good situation with a hanger, hollow/rotten and such. I do some cutting as well you have to really respect the force and weight of a tree. The smaller ones can get you too.

I'm out of commission too and if telling this saves someone an accident, then all the better.

My daily driver car quit running and started eliminating possibilities. Thought a stuck injector but they ohmed out fine. Had good spark off the coil packs but would not run. Suspected a blown head gasket on the V6. Pulled the plugs on the front side and all had good compression. Put them back in and pulled the backs. Put the compression guage on the back cylinder and had Dad crank it over.

That cylinder was full of gas and rubber tip compression gauge sprayed the gas on my hand and misted it enough that a spark from one of the wires(short I guess) ignited it. Hand on fire and beat it about 6 to 8 times till it was out, too late. Luckily only 2nd degree burns but just shows you how quick something can go wrong. Wires were WAY out of the way and plugs not in the loose wires. My mistake for not totally disabling the ignition system. I'll post a pic in the next message and Joe can delete if he wishes. Don't look if you're squeamish but it's a harsh reminder of a hard lesson I had to learn. Tested a lot of engines before with no problems but as pointed out, it only takes one mistake to change your life.
