They hold the reflector and glass to the outer ring and can be a pain to fit. Outer ring upside down, gasket, glass, reflector then the middle part of a clip fits over the edge of the class/reflector assembly leaving the long wires sticking up while you position another one opposite, then all you have to do is spring the wires in under the lip of the ring. I found you can spring one wire in and it will hold enough to get one of the ones opposite in then slide it around to the correct position while you get the third one in.
