Thinking of "made in USA"

And the discussion about the bore sighter. I was looking at air compressors on the Northern Tool website recently and I see there are upright 5-hp size shop compressors branded "Quincy" and "Ingersoll-Rand", both good American makers. But aside from the paint color, they look just like the Harbor Freight and other Chinese units. Anybody know if they're really made in USA or they're just charging half again as much for the I-R and twice as much for the Quincy as the same unit that the discount places sell?

I'm suspicious because I once bought an "I-R" chain hoist that turned out to have a Chinese inspection sticker inside the box, and as far as Quincy goes, as far as I know all they make are screw-type compressors whereas the "Quincy" in the Northern Tool catalog looks like a standard 2-cylinder piston type.
