The heat gauge on my 1962 WM300 has never worked right. When I got the truck it read 1/2 way when the engine was cold, and quickly pegged as the engine warmed. I bought a new sending unit, supposedly for a WM300, but it did the same thing. I ended up adding a few resistors to the line to bring it more to the center, but that's not the right way to fix it. But at this point I don't know if the sending unit or the gauge is the problem.

I'm looking for the correct sending unit number for a 12v gauge. Also, is there any way to test the temp gauge to see if it is bad.
