For anyone using this style of coupler>> Where I used to work we had a horrible time with these going bad on the first gen Cummins diesel Dodge trucks. Reason being the water spray from the wheels wicks down the shaft passed the seal. We were spreading fertilizer so that compounded the problem as there is no way to grease it without tearing it all apart.
After replacing 4 of them(the guts and seals) I decided to drill and tap for a grease zerk in the body. Problem solved and never had to replace another as a shot of grease every once in a while kept the moisture out.
