In the early '90s I had an older motorcycle that was not in the best shape and I was not in the best shape financially or knowledge wise to make it better. This bike was a twin and one cylinder had issues at cold start-up. However, if I pulled the plug wire off the plug such that it was still sitting loosely over the end of the plug, that gap would get it to fire. After about 5-10 seconds of letting it run like that I could push the plug wire back down onto the plug completely and it would continue running from then on until next cold start.
