I have a 354 Hemi from a '57 Dodge full size school bus, that was backed up with a NP540 direct. While the 315 was out of my '57 W-200, I dropped in the 354, just to check for fit. I found the 315 bell bolts up to the 354, so it sits right on the stock rear motor mounts. Even the clutch linkage bolts right up. For front motor mounts, I bought a pair of universals from Hot Heads. I found the 315 bell is 1" shorter than the 354's, so if I want to use the 540 trans, something would have to be done to the input shaft, or put in a 1" spacer, or a guy could just use the 4 sp. Some details I didn't check, as it was just a test fit. That's my story, and I sticking with it.
