my 66 had a red engine but it was a -1. I think the -3 had red engine with blue valve covers in 66. on 61s I have seen gold engines both slant 6 and poly. This one has always been a red with a bit of orange. seems a bit more orange than the 66 red. could just be faded though after a zillion miles. I will pull valve cover and check
