I think the jack you need for your mid-1944 Snow Tractor is the Auto Specialities screw type jack with folding handle CC-924607, a/k/a Official Stock No. 41-J-68-75. This is the jack listed in ORD 7-8-9 SNL G-502 dated 15 August 1944 and my sense is it was supplied by the factory throughout WW II.
The hydraulic jack you mention, 41-J-72, appears in ORD 8 SNL G-507 [for the WC-62 and WC-63] dated March 1952, by which time the Army has greatly reduced the contents and size of jeep and Dodge tool kits.
