If a Dodge Carryall is the shapeliest Army truck ever made, this Marine Corp unit might be the homeliest.

Appearance can translate to popularity, even among military vehicles. For every one of these M-series FCs built, they built 20 Carryalls. After receiving a mere 400 of these units in 1964, the Navy and Marines said "No thank you", and the Forward Control FC170 Jeep slipped into obscurity.

I like weird trucks, so I set out to acquire one of these unique rigs. It took me a decade to find this one, which I bought in 2007. I recently found another, which makes number 57 on the register of survivors. I'm selling the rougher, i.e. cheaper of the two trucks. I went ahead an put it on ebay, so the market can decide what it takes to get it out of my yard. I have been proud to own it while I collected parts for it, but the stable only has room for one freak Kaiser. I'm ready to let someone else tackle this one. I originally set the reserve at what I paid for it 8 years ago, but I think I'll let it go for whatever it will bring.

There are links to more history, details, and photos in the auction listing.
