If you are talking about changing from the full time four wheel drive front axle to one with locking type hubs, yes it can be done rather inexpensively. You have to find a 1980 to 1993 font axle (Dana 44) from a Dodge W250 and change out the knuckles and the hubs - this is providing you have the same Dana 44 but in full time 4x4 - I did this a few years ago, worked great!
