Diesel Power magazine did dino tests on different additives a couple of years ago and one of the best additives was 2 stroke oil.
It didn't take much to improve power output.
Plain old motor oil boosts power as much as most of the additives for sale.
Quite a few guys with older equipment are running used motor oil through 2 micron filters and blending with fuel oil. It boosts power and adds lube qualities for the fuel pumps and injectors lost from low sulfur diesel
