The disadvantage of higher ply rated tires is more heat generated by a thicker tread and/or sidewall but that generally is not an issue at speeds lower than 55 m.p.h.
I looked into 12 & 14 ply ST trailer tires but decided against it because of that ...
With a PW I do not think speed is an issue ....
