The pulley is already as far back as it can go without hitting the timing cover. In order to use the pulley you showed on the right, you need a fan hub that does not protrude as much. To achieve that, your fan hub is going to have to move up. At the current height, the fan hub is also as far back as it can go against the timing cover. If you raise the fan hub, you might be able to move it back against the block/head and above the gear case.
