I am very sorry to hear of your loss, I know how it feels. I lost my first Beagle to an accident caused poor judgement on my own part. That was 12 years ago and it still bothers me to this very day. Lost my second Beagle to bowel cancer last year which hit my Dad harder than anyone, He provided the vast majority of care for the little guy when he was a pup and came down with Parvo after getting the vaccine, I did what I could but was fresh out of college and had to work or lose my job. When my wife and I moved to town, I couldn't bear to take him out of the country and have him stuck indoors all day so Dad gladly kept him at the farm. Little bugger kept wandering off in his last few weeks, thought he was looking for a place to die....I went and found him....chasing rabbits even though he could barely walk. He ended up passing during a ride a couple of days later which was his second favorite thing in the world.
Writing this wells up some tears but good memories as well. Hurts just like losing a person, just seems to hit harder the older I get.
