i have wanted to do one of those for a long time. but since my rock crawler is a cj5 there is just plain no room.
i have a chev 350 v8 backed by a sm465 with 6.55:1 low gear and a twin stick-ed model 20 transfer case on the shortest adapter i could get.
and still my rear drive shaft is barely over a foot long. it is tight, but it works good.
