That large hump angle was used on Braden Winch equipped Civilian Power Wagons that had a hydraulic power package (integral pump, valve, and reservoir assembly) mounted in the empty space between the winch drum and the passenger frame rail. The extra tall "hump" was designed to clear the pillow block and sheave that transfered, engine crankshaft rotation via V-belt to the power package. All components cleared the winch, radiator, and frame due to the redesigned winch angle.
