MSD compatible with Petronix?

I have a student that would like to put an MSD 6A on his car that he recently converted from points to electronic with a Petronix unit. I have no experience with the Petronix unit so I don't know how to advise him. I told him that if it were me, I would put the points back in and use them to trigger the MSD box. Has anyone been down this road before? Any help would be appreciated. Also, thanks to Hemi Power and Todd Wilson for your help with my wiring harness. I don't have to pop the hood and wiggle the wires anymore. Next project, my front cab mounts on the crew cab. Thanks again, Dan Bauer
