Why so many good marine diesels and none for us

The cummins has much better variants in the diesel config. and Yanmar has a completely different line with a high rev (3300) and great power to weight. Are these just not available to us because a skidder does not care about weight and revs. I can only assume that it is too costly to addapt a marine versior to automotive use.
