My '61 has stock shocks and uses the two smaller forward holes in the top rail of the frame and a single hole in the lower rail. The mounting bracket is triangular with a beefy mounting post for the shock. The base of the post passes through the bracket and anchors through the frame, secured with 3/4-10 (?) castleated nut.
The rear, larger hole is open. My truck doesn't have a bed.....it's a firetruck.
