The NP 420 came in 1957 and later PW's. I don't know for sure what year the second series SG came out. I do know how to tell the difference between them if that would help?? 1st series SG has the drain plug angled downward about 45degrees,2dd series has the drain plug straight out ( horizontal). NP420 has squared bolt up flanges to the bell housing while SG's are offset. I been led to believe from what I've read that 1947 was the official model year with a few early productions being titled 1946.
