What I meant was that even though over the 4 year period the production numbers were not that different.

1957 307 W200s Don knew of 14

1958 727 W200s Don knew of 26

1959 466 W200s Don knew of 14

1960 412 W200s Don knew of 7

Don knew of 61 total.

You see that the numbers do not match the number made. why only 7 1960s?

They only made 54 fewer, yet there are half as many left(in Don's list).

Another weird one is 1959, it is the lowest production for W300s, yet I find more of them then any other year.

That is what I was talking about.

Though your idea might explain why some of the production numbers are what they are.
