When I first got my M37, I towed it about 20 miles home with my chevy 1/2 ton and a homemade towbar. The M37's brakes were seized up but before I could figure that out, I'd disconnected both drivelines. I un-seized the brakes by attaching a chain hoist to an immovable object and to the truck and reefing on it till it broke loose. The M37s tires were low but had enough air to roll. I did not tie off the steering wheel. It tracked just fine as I towed it at about 3 AM sunday morn to avoid traffic and cops. After I worked the brakes over and aired up the tires and got the truck driveable I went to tow it to the state patrol to get a salvage title on it and it would not track at all. It just pushed my chevy sideways when I got to the first corner. I had the tranny and transfer in neutral but the drivelines were hooked up. I never did get it inspected. My conclusion is that you have to disconnect the drivelines, though I suppose it could have been the low tires that made it track better somehow. I have to tow it 400 mi one of these days and for that I'll remove the drivelines.
