I have always had a fascination with the old Hemis. I have never owned one and probably never will. I probably should visit the web sites they talk about. I find it amazing that so many similiar engines of varying displacements were produced from one parent company in such a short period of time. Someone should write another book on the subject and this time include the truck engines in detail.
As a side note: I have been told time and time again that light duty Dodge pickup trucks were never equipped with a Hemi. My 1954 shop manual and parts manual indicate otherwise. I do not have them at my disposal at the moment, but they indicate that the first few serial numbers were indeed Hemi head before switching to the Power-Dome poly head.
