Sorry to be off topic but I am considering purchasing a 1951 Plymouth Cranbrook 4 door. And I wanted to know if any of you had heard of them or had any experience with them. I believe they have the chrysler 217ci in them. Looks just like the powerwagons engine, even the carb. This car has all the chrome and a flawless body totally complete. Apulstry isn't great and the paint has gotten old and will need a new paint job but it could be shined up to look good for a while before any of this. Has a lot of style. Runs perfect, starts right up and is quiet as can be. Has 3 speed on the tree. The guy is a friend of the family and he is the second owner and feels bad not driving it. He says it is very dependable and gets about 20mpg Wants $1500.
How good of a car is this? Are they totally gutless or are they decent? Do they really get that good of mileage? I want a car to be my daily driver and possible go places a good college car. I have a power wagon which is to expensive to drive around and a Datsun 510 (current daily driver) set for autocross which is to low to the ground and it scrapes in town. I feel bad driving it although it is fun.
I guess I am messed up, I like unique cars and don't like the common. I either like the nice expensive ones of today or the old ones. No Hondas.
Please help is this going to be a good car or do I have to settl for the ordinary.
Drew
