People in Washington just plain got tired of high vehicle tab fees. They voted them out. Now the basic fee it $30 and by the time your done it get up to 60 or 70. Which is a lot better than the $400 I had been paying on a 97 Honda Accord let alone on the other cars.
THe state did not like the vote and fought it all the way and they have been crying ever since. But if they look at it it was about 1% of the total state budget and they said they would die with out it. They did not get much sympathy from people whos house taxes have gone up 300 to 400% in 10 years. You would not believe the places (budgets) where the car tax money was going and we thought it was for roads and related transportation.
