Please excuse my disagreement, but the bellhousings for the early hemi and the Poly did change in '62, I believe. I stood out in the rain for an hour once to find out that the bell from a '72 318 would not bolt up to my '60 318. The lower bolt holes on each side were off as were the holes for the dowel pins. Over an inch difference on each side! The early cranks were drilled with eight holes and the later ones had six threaded holes. The '62s also got the gear reduction starter, at least on the cars.
