The generic terms for this part would be splash guard, splash apron or inner fender but my 1953 factory parts list book refers to them as (SHIELD,to fender splash)part #1095 450 and 451 l&r found on page12-2 in the fender and sheetmetal section. Sorry for not clarifying the original post.
