Maybe it was put in when the frame was cut? It has rivets holding it in there not just bolts also. Now if you look close
you will see the tail tips and rear cross member has been added. Nothing is cut or welded on the frame from the front bumper to just in front of the 1st rear axle. I know I have cleaned by hand every square inch of this frame a few times and would have caught it. Now if they added a cross member it was done after the cut and slid it into the frame, riveted and bolted it in place. No welds holding the cross braces to the frame. I did see a spot there should be a rivet but there isn't a hole in the frame or it broke off? I do most my brain storming while working. At 63 I would forget what I figured out months or a year later. During breaks I stare at it and figure stuff out and make lists of parts needed. I also needed to figure 3 places to work for different weather. The Outside Frame area and sand blasting the cab, engine area under cover where my tractor can go. Last place is the painting area and warm room to dry stuff in. So I can jump back and forth for a change of pace. Like working on the engine.
