i don t think you loose the cylinder space
the rod stroke is longer but the crank is shorter so the piston ends up in the same place
it would only be farther up if you used he 218 crank
this is as i understand it but i could be clueless
so someone correct me if i am wrong--trying to get a handle on all i think i know
never had one apart by myself but i watched john minyard rebuild mine in about 72 but that is a blur at this point in time
