OK using a new tool I measured 4 places in each bore. 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom 90 degrees to each other. All cylinders show more wear side to side on the walls. Out of the six pistons the bottoms were 3.2667-3.2752 difference of 0.0085 max taper. The top of the cylinders were 3.2676-3.2752 difference of 0.0076 max taper. My average cylinder taper is .008 over all.

Bit confused Stock Bore is 3.250 and my piston heads are marked .040 so that should be around 3.290 and I am under that a little??? Is the .040 piston Dia smaller than .040 and the rings make up the difference?? I think the taper is OK and I just need to hone and put .040 over rings fitted to the walls in again. Seems it is in tolerance?
