Hey, Mark. I just got a regulator for my 1967 with 60-amp alternator. Original part is #3000074 up to serial #1607568 and #2444980 after that. #2444980 is adjustable for different amp alternators. Modern equivalent for 60-amp alternator is Borg Warner R286 but is not adjustable.

60-amp alternator is #2444898 for 1967 and would work in your 1962 with 251.
