Intersting Clint. I had no idea that the twist lock tank wasn't used in the early tanks. All three tanks, the one that came with the truck when I bought it, the next half tank I got and the full size tank I have now all have the twist lock installation. Now obviously that doesn't mean that its right, just saying I didn't know there was another kind. Until I got the sender and it had the holes Chris mentions. Since it fit and sealed ok once all the gaskets were in place, I figured it was ok.

Ive searched for the last hour to find the accompanying paperwork that came with the sender, but to no avail. I have moved a lot of stuff to storage in preparation for the divorce.

In looking at my receipts, I have two receipts for sending units.

One is from January 2010 from NAPA. Says Sending Unit, part number 701-1569. $26.99

The other is from VPW in Oct 2012. It says "Two Post Sending Unit with Gasket. $149.00

I don't remember buying two, or which one is currently on the truck. Dunno why I would have bought another at a later time at nearly 5 times the amount. But as Im typing this I remember one not being correct. So maybe the SW one from the box, and from NAPA was not right. So I called VPW and said I needed a two post sender. Heck Im not sure, that was 3 years ago. lol.

But at least it narrows it down. Got one from NAPA, the 701-1569. And one from VPW, not sure of the actual part number.

Hope everyone else is now as confused as me! Thanks Clint! lol

Oh, P.S.
I'll have to get the wiring diagram from Vintage Wiring of Maine from storage to see where the two wires from the sender go. Again, too long ago that I don't remember wiring it all up
