either a mico brake lock and or a pair of good scotchblocks under the front tires would solve the moving problem! It is never a good idea to anchor the opposite end of a truck when winching, strange things happen to the frame! If you have ever seen a tow truck with the frame bent upward in the middle is a result of anchoring the end opposite the winch, and stressing the frame, it's called 'camel-backing' The proper way is to use scotchblocks attached to the bumper with chains and the front tires driven onto the blocks .til the chains are tight, this places all stress on the winch setup and if you do move it will just plow the scotchblocks into the ground until enough friction is found to overcome the pull. Also a lot safer! Scotchblocks and a couple good snatchblocks are a towman's best friends! All my trucks (including the deuce) have a pair of Holmes scotchblocks and at least 3 snatchblocks as part of the equipment carried. Good quality scotchblocks are made of T-1 steel with a serrated leading edge and properly sized grade 90 attach chains. Typically, wreckers are equipped with 'banjo eye' cut outs in the front and rear of the truck to lay the chains into for attachment and adjustment, I have them welded to the front bumpers on all my trucks with front winch and my wreckers have them in the rear as part of the stock Holmes body.
