The splice in the frame is to the rear(4-5") of the support under the rear axles frame on the outside. This is the section I will put the new 54" frame over just because. It had held for more than 30-40 years but I just want to make it stronger. This truck had big loads of trees on it way more than it will ever carry again in it's life. The frame splice is OK and will not come apart.
