You can use it, been done before, you need to make sure the hole is sealed by the head gasket. Personally I would get the latest model head I could find without the internal bypass and go with that. If you want to use the head for aesthetic reasons, it can be done. I've also seen them with the hole threaded and a brass plug put in there with thread sealer.
