Yes, it should. You can also try to "respring" your current ones. I've done this in the past with success. Put the spring in a bench vise and slowly tighten till it closes a little. Mark the ends on a piece of paper PRIOR to starting and when you see it is closer try them on the door. One word of caution. Put a rag over the spring while tightening so that if it pops out or breaks, it won't get you.

You can bend spring steel. Coil springs are made by bending the rod AFTER it has been heat treated. It isn't as strong the second time around though.
