sounds like you might have the rare wdx wdm300 that one year they may have called a a w300 which has 5 lugs
or you may have the 6 lug but w300 non wdx or wm sheetmetal but standard sheet metal of the day which as i recall has the wdx wm differential but in a centered housing and more than likely with 4.89 gearing or less
you need to find what the diff gearing is either on the vehicle id plate or stamped on the housing somewhere and go from there
several suppliers who advertise on this site have your pumpkin with the 4.89 gearing which should be a direct bolt into your housing---------this is my understanding but i have been wrong before
a pic of your truck would help identify it
