I went to town in the WDX today for a little Thai lunch. I almost never remove the key from the ignition switch, but this time I did. After lunch I couldn't find the key anywhere. Back into the restaurant....no sign. I figure I dropped on the sidewalk while stuffing cell phone, eyeglasses, key in my vest pocket.
Good on the foot activated starter. All I needed to do was jump across two posts on the switch and I am off and running. The fun part was 5 miles of slow going and numerous turns through town and county roads with non-power steered wheel and non-synchro transmission (which I had to shift with my left hand because my right hand was holding the screwdriver). I had a spare key....in the garage at home. The worst part of the whole thing is I lost a cool little flashlight with a crank on it that TGP had sent to me. Hope that doesn't sound like a hint. :)
