A shop that bends metal does not sound like the place to go.
Doors are really tough to fill. You could try the solder trick or you could make a bunch of 1/2 inch circles from some thin metal and panel adhesive them in place. Panel adhesive , stinks, is the same stuff that some dental work is done with AND is stronger than the parent metal. Do this on the inside and cover the patches up with old style sound deadener. A bit of filler on the outside and you are good to go.
If you are willing to use any kind of filler to straighten a panel then this method should not be looked down apon.
You will not create any distortion by filling the holes in this manner.
