I also saw the tabs off the side of the box. Make sure to leave the longitudinal rib, it has a fluid passage in it.
I make my own bracket, with a kink to go around the output shaft hump.
And I mount it as low as possible, to allow as high as possibler angle for good as possible alignment to the column. See how the pitman arms goes low through the big hole in the frame? And I LIKE the factory bell joint, it allows some end play for frame flex. This truck had the cab off, I also moved the floor board hole over to allow for the new column alignment.
