biggest surf we get here on average is around 10 ft., but usually every year there are one or two bigger swells
when it s big i always sit on the outside and i can see the clean ups coming and paddle out further and have avoided many of a beating but not always lucky
i always go on the last waves of the set tho but even that backfires
cool part about here is that when tis really big there are points that can handle it and the paddle out is easy and you decide how far out on the point you want to go and take off from
