Spent some time doing that. Ground away roughness then hit it all with 80 grit. Then used 150 grit on a soft pad die grinder till it was all smooth as you see in this pic. lightly sandblasted it and sprayed with epoxy primer. With NO sanding went straight to acrylic Urethane top a day day later and it gives what you see. No filler on it. I did that with most all the suspension parts. and was very pleased with the outcome. Tougher too as there is less layers.
