If you're worried about modern fuel deteriorating your fuel hoses, you should use Gates Barricade. It is available at most part stores, but they probably give the cheap stuff unless you ask for Barricade specifically.

Most of you will never need this stuff in actuality, but it is a quality part that will eliminate worry if you are so inclined to complain about fuel eating your hoses.

The nylon barrier inside the hose is designed prevent evaporative emissions-that is, it keeps fuel vapor from permeating the hose. Modern vehicles use this to meet air quality emission standards. Your Power Wagon emits more air pollution when it is sitting still with gasoline evaporating out of it than some new vehicles emit when they are driving down the road. The nylon barrier also holds up to ethanol and biodiesel.

Standard hose should hold up fine to blends of ethanol and biodiesel up to 20%. However, I had to start using Barricade, because B100 dissolved my cheap parts store hoses after about 6 months of use. Those same hoses withstood about 10 years of B20 before I switched to the higher blend of biodiesel. OEM hoses after 1993 hold up, but the cheap parts store hoses that had been added to my 1984 Frankentruck began to soften after I switched to 100% biodiesel. Now, I simply use Barricade on everything whether it needs it or not.
