I've had steel in my eyes a few times. Cast iron was worse.. that stuff doesn't 'shave'. It breaks.
Two trips to the ER for it and both times the doc used a magnet to locate the metal.
If that isn't weird, watching a piece of steel wiggle around while it's sticking out of your eye. That one popped out magnetically. The cast iron needed some help with tiny needle nosed pliers. Ouch.
Needless to say, my work glasses come home with me all the time, now. No more chances.
